Richard Martin

Managing Director

Richard has extensive corporate and international trade experience in Australia, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and the South Pacific. In 2014 Richard established a highly successful engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firm, AEES Group, (now merged with Acacia Energy) focused on ‘generating cost reduction and sustainability change’ through deploying renewable energy technologies to commercial businesses. Acacia Energy delivers large-scale Behind-The-Meter commercial PV, generation and storage systems aimed at automating; Demand Response, FCAS, Pool Price Autobid and Demand Management solutions. Richard is also a graduate of the Climate Reality Leadership Corps training with Al Gore in Florida, USA.

For over 25 years Stephen has operated in senior executive and advisory roles in the Australian and Southeast Asian electricity and gas markets. His experience spans leading business start-ups, running energy markets, industry transformation and advising on market reform. Stephen leverages his deep understanding of energy markets and business value drivers to identify, implement and operate solutions that maximise customer value. Stephen is an Alumnus of the Harvard Business School, USA.

Tara completed her Master of International Business and an MBA in Professional Accounting from Deakin University. Tara’s extensive experience across both management and professional accounting roles throughout Asia and Australia provide her with the tools to ensure business runs efficiently.

Andre Majchrzak brings a wealth of experience in plant automation and production engineering, gained through his work with leading manufacturing companies such as CSL Behring and Asahi Beverages. He plays a pivotal role in advancing our clients’ renewable energy goals, particularly in the delivery of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) and EPC services. Andre’s deep industry knowledge and technical expertise are key assets in accelerating the transition from fossil fuels to sustainable energy solutions.

Umar Al Aberdin

Umar is a seasoned renewable systems engineer with a proven track record in delivering compliant hybrid energy systems tailored to each site’s unique demands. He expertly designs, configures, and commissions integrated energy assets – including solar arrays, batteries, and on‑site generation – ensuring seamless interoperability. Umar specialises in programming advanced control systems for diverse distributed energy resources (DERs), implementing protective schemes, coordinating equipment, and conducting system-wide testing. His meticulous approach guarantees reliable performance, grid integration, and compliance with industry standards.

Software & Network Engineer

Aneurin is a dedicated software engineer with a strong passion for free and open-source software. At Acacia, he plays a key role in systems programming, system administration, and cloud DevOps, ensuring our platforms are robust, efficient, and secure. His technical expertise supports the seamless integration of digital systems across renewable energy projects. Driven by a belief in a fairer and more sustainable future, Aneurin sees renewable technologies as a powerful catalyst for positive change.
