Acacia is the project manager for the MacGregor Park community battery in Noosaville — a three-year partnership between Noosa Council, Zero Emissions Noosa Inc, Yarra Energy Foundation, Acacia, and Energy Queensland. Installation is underway, supported by a $500,000 grant from the Australian Government's Community Batteries for Household Solar program.
The Challenge
Noosa Council secured federal grant funding to bring one of Queensland's first community batteries to MacGregor Park, Noosaville. Delivering it safely required a project manager who could coordinate the supplier, the partners, and Council across a multi-year program.
The Solution
Acacia is the project manager for the build, working with Pixii as the battery supplier and coordinating across Noosa Council, Zero Emissions Noosa Inc, Yarra Energy Foundation, and Energy Queensland to ensure safe installation and conditions for safe operation.
The Impact
Installation is underway at MacGregor Park, Noosaville — one of the first community batteries in Queensland. Backed by a $500,000 grant from the Australian Government's Community Batteries for Household Solar program, secured in February 2023.
