AEMO Accreditation
Accredited to settle, built to pay you
Acacia Energy is AEMO accredited — a registered market participant with an electricity retail licence in Victoria and a Demand Response Service Provider registration. That means we don't just operate your battery; we settle the trades.
AEMO settles weekly on the power delivered to the grid, and the money flows back to you. Your battery becomes an asset with a revenue line, not just an insurance policy.
About
What orchestration means
Acacia specialise in battery orchestration and wholesale energy market access for revenue maximisation. Acacia's PowerXchange is the orchestration platform that takes your battery online and puts it to work three ways:
Demand management — the battery supports your site: time-shifting solar, capping peak demand charges and protecting critical loads.
Energy arbitrage — the wholesale spot price is set by AEMO every five minutes. PowerXchange charges your battery when prices are low and discharges when prices are high, capturing the difference.
FCAS revenue — AEMO pays for fast-response services that hold the grid at 50Hz. Batteries are ideally suited to the highest-value 6-second response services, and PowerXchange bids your battery's capacity into this market every trading interval.

How
Strength in numbers
Most commercial batteries are individually too small to access these markets. We aggregate customer batteries into a single virtual power plant and bid the combined capacity, sharing the revenue in proportion to each battery's contribution — so a battery of any size earns market-scale returns.
Let's understand your project
It all starts with a conversation. We'll look at your site, your load and your battery (or the battery you're considering) and show you what it could earn.

Frequently Asked Questions
If you don’t see your question here, we’re always available to help. Get in touch to discuss your needs, explore opportunities, or clarify how we work.
What does Acacia Energy do?
We help Australian businesses reduce energy costs, generate new revenue, and reach net-zero through tailored solar, battery and bio-diesel solutions. As a registered AEMO market participant, we don't just install assets — our proprietary PowerXchange platform autonomously operates them in the National Electricity Market on your behalf.
Do you install solar and batteries?
Yes — from 100kW SME systems to multi-megawatt industrial installations. We're technology-agnostic and work with leading battery brands including Sungrow, Jinko, Evo, Pixie, Chelion, Gelion and PotusEdge. We also deploy grid-synchronised bio-diesel generators for peak shaving and market participation.
What return can I expect?
Our customers regularly see total energy bill reductions of around 60%, with payback periods typically in the 3–5 year range. Exact returns depend on your energy profile and which services you take — a free energy audit gives you a defensible number before you commit.
What makes Acacia different from a regular solar installer?
A typical installer sells you panels and walks away. We treat your assets as an ongoing revenue-generating system through our OBE platform, AEMO market accreditation, and Generation Management as a Service (GMaaS). Your assets pay you back, not just offset a bill.
Who do you work with?
Australian businesses across cold storage, food and beverage, wineries, manufacturing, mining, agriculture and community energy. Clients include Fonterra, Noumi, Andrew Peace Wines, De Bortoli, Austco Polar and Fresh Freight Tasmania. We work with everyone from SMEs to large enterprises.
How can my renewable assets earn revenue?
Through four streams: the AEMO wholesale spot market, FCAS (Frequency Control Ancillary Services), DNSP demand response payments, and avoided peak demand charges via peak shaving. Acacia is the market participant — you just collect the share.
